Yikes, maybe next year choose struggle or uncharted and see if you can't get served up some relaxing normal. I always choose a word for the year and then always forget what it was. So this year I chose a sentence of the year instead! Naturally, I have forgotten the sentence as well. Maybe next year I'll write it down. (I almost certainly will not.)

Your words in all their forms continue to be another balm on the year (so much goodness and B O O K S ahead for both of us; I can feeeel it!). The absurdity of how not easy, ease-filled, or even ease-adjacent our 2024 has felt since the flood in mid-January is pretty endlessly amusing to me at this point. Save for the rare moments when it makes me want to scream. I love the idea of choosing a word that can't fail me for 2025, like maybe "ridiculous."
